In The Great Alone: Lenny moved to the vast Alaska to start a new life with her family. Her world got exceedingly smaller and scarier when she did. But she chiseled A new life and love among the people and lifestyle. Tragedies typical of Alaska and of that era were also shaping Lenny's path. Great story and characters by Kristin Hannah. I give it 5 stars and worth the read! I have my own tragedy (witnessed not experienced myself) the only time I was ever in Alaska, it's surely a story to tell, and definitely worthy of becoming a blog post. Adding that to my to-do!

In Project Hail Mary: Ryland Grace is the ultimate bad-ass astronaut biologist savior of Earth! It really doesn't matter that he was kicked off the planet kicking and screaming, and had a couple breakdowns, he is truly likeable, relatable, and smarter than any other character I have encountered. Ryland's adventure through the stars is one worth experiencing along with him. I give it 5 stars and worth the read (recommend the audio book - love the narrator and great audio effects with some characters)! If you have read Andy Weir's book 'The Martian' (also recommend), I like this one even more! If you like 'The Big Bang Theory' show, you will also love this book!
